I believe that his father Isaac and my gg grandfather Abram Garrison were brothers . Lived in what is now Garrison NJ. During his military issues he fled to the near by mountains in the what is now Roscoe or Walton near the Delaware river basin before leaving the area completely.

Apparently this whole “legend” began when he killed Sioux warrior and had a bit of his liver left on his knife, so Johnson asked if anyone “wanted a bite”.
