22,000 feet is in fact still an incredibly long way from the top as each 1000 feet is an order of magnitude more difficult than the last. It’s like aiming to hold your breath for 10 minutes, only making it 7 and then exclaiming “well, only 3 minutes short!”

His actual climb of Everest was not very interesting, more suitable for a Darwin Award. However everything before that was quite interesting.
