That appears to be the scalloper Kilkenny, which is around 90 feet. Aside from the false scale, the surge of white water along the length of the port side is a giveaway. Water just doesn’t move around a hull that way. The photoshopped pic is disingenuous, but I object to it more because it discounts the very real terror of crossing the entrance with an ebb tide opposing a large swell. A 40 foot wall of water curling and falling down onto a boat is far more deadly than a long period sloping wave.

I’ve been on a boat running from a churning wall of water and minor variations in the bottom have a huge influence on the wave shape. Being overtaken from the stern undoubtedly contributed to the Sunmore’s loss. Most of Lituya is far too deep and/or steep to make a good anchorage, so all three boats were undoubtedly close to the outer spit. Based on the few timeline clues, the Sunmore was probably inside or just past the narrowest part of the entrance. In any narrow passage, the worst waves are generally just past the point where the passage opens. The Sunmore apparently reached the worst point at the worst moment.

Turns out there are fishing vessels called “trawlers” and others called “trollers”. The ones in this story are the latter:
